Originally designed for manufacturing screws and bolts in the watch-making industry in Switzerland, the Swiss lathe features guide bushing and sliding headstock to achieve extremely high precision and strict tolerance standards.

The guide bushing allows the workpiece to expose only the necessary part to the tooling area, rendering optimal support to the mass of the piece to reduce deflection. The sliding headstock permits the workpiece to move along its axial axis (Z-axis) so that the lathe can perform more than one machining operation at a time, which categorically reduces the cycle time.
